Job Stress in Shift Workers of Iran Khodro Company: The Role of Work-Family Conflict, Cognitive Regulation of Emotion, and Perceived Organizational Justice

Abstract
Human resources are the most effective tools to achieve predetermined goals, and not paying attention to provide a suitable environment for them can lead to many problems for organizations, including job stress. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of work-family conflict, cognitive regulation of emotion, and perceived organizational justice in predicting job stress among shift workers of Iran Khodro Company. This study is a descriptive correlational research. The statistical population of this study was all shift workers of Iran Khodro Company in 2024. In this study, 155 persons selected using convenience sampling method and they completed the work-family conflict (Netmier 1996), cognitive regulation of emotion (Garnefski and et al, 2001), perceived organizational justice (Colquitt, 2001), and job stress (Espio and Spokane, 1998) questionnaires. The Pearson’s correlation coefficient and statistical methods, and the step-to-step regression method and SPSS-26 software used to analyze the data. The results showed that there is a negative significant correlation between perceived organizational justice and adaptive emotion regulation with job stress, and there is a positive significant correlation between work-family conflict and maladaptive emotion regulation with job stress (p <0.05). Also, the results showed that work-family conflict and interactional justice predict 48% the job stress among shift workers of Iran Khodro Company. The results of this study highlight the role of work-family conflict, cognitive regulation of emotion, and perceived organizational justice in job stress among shift workers of Iran Khodro Company.
