The role of social support dimensions in predicting social interaction of employees in offices in the city of Khezri, Dasht-e Bayaz

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the role of social support dimensions in predicting social interaction among office workers in the city of Khezri, Dasht-e-Bayaz. This research is of a descriptive-correlational type, and the statistical population of the present study consisted of all employees of the offices of the city of Khezri, Dasht-e-Bayaz in 2024. Based on the statistics collected, the number of employees in the offices of Khazri City, Dasht-e Bayaz was 150. In this study, convenience sampling method was used and 108 people were selected as a sample using the Morgan table.Using the social support questionnaires of Wax, Phillips, Holly, Thompson, Williams, and Stewart (1986), social interactions of Huang and Chen (2007): Necessary information was collected and the results were analyzed using Spss23 software and using Pearson correlation and regression test. The results of the study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the dimensions of social support (family, friends, and colleagues) and social interactions. The results of the study also showed that among the dimensions of social support, the dimension of friends has the ability to predict social interactions. Therefore, increasing social support causes employees to have more attachment to the organization and, as a result, they are more inclined to stay in the organization.
