The role of work-family conflicts, cognitive emotion regulation and occupational stress in predicting addiction preparedness in the employees of the municipality of Isfahan

Abstract

The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the role of work-family conflicts, cognitive emotion regulation and occupational stress in predicting addiction preparedness in Isfahan city municipality employees. The method of the present study was fundamental and in terms of the method of descriptive correlations. The statistical population of this study included all employees of the city of Isfahan in 1396, According to the municipal report of the city of Isfahan, the total number of them is 420 people. Among the statistical population, 200 people were selected by random sampling method. The research tools were Karlson & Associates Conflict Questionnaire (2000), Garnowski's Cognitive Critical Adjustment Scale, Grameen and Spinhaun (2001), Phillip-Rice Occupational Stress Questionnaire (1997), and Adolescence Readiness Questionnaire (1992) and multiple regression analysis in a synchronous manner and Pearson Correlation Coefficient were used to examine the relationships between variables. The results showed that predictive variables including work-family conflict, occupational stress and emotional regulation with criterion variable (addiction prevalence) had 53% of common variance. According to the results of work-family conflict and occupational stress, there is a positive and significant relationship between addiction treatment and emotional adjustment with addiction preparation.
