Abstract

The aim of the present study was to determineThe aim of the present study was to determine the role of perfectionism and life satisfaction in predicting work addiction in different jobs. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of method, correlation type. The current research population, including 250 doctors, psychologists, pilots, and teachers, who worked more than 50 hours a week in 1401, were selected as available and non-randomly. Research data were collected using Spence and Robbins' work addiction questionnaire (1992), Ahvaz perfectionism questionnaire (1999) and Diener's life satisfaction questionnaire (1985). Correlation and multivariate regression tests were used to analyze the data.The research results showed that perfectionism has a positive relationship with work addiction and predicts it. Therefore, people who set very high standards for themselves and care about perfection and avoiding any failure in their jobs, are more likely to be involved in work addiction. Also, life satisfaction has a negative relationship with work addiction, and predicts it. Therefore, a person who is not satisfied with his life may, instead of solving his problems, resort to work, and spend many hours of his life involved in work
